<![CDATA[Industry Roundup: Rhys-Meyers to Star in World War II Love Story]]> http://hotfeeder.com/entertainment/industry_roundup_rhysmeyers_to_star_in_world_war_ii_love_story_2713886

Belle of the Ball: Jonathan Rhys-Meyers (The Tudors) will star in Belle Du Seigneur, a French love story based on Albert Cohen’s best-selling novel. Rhys-Meyers will play a Jewish diplomat who becomes involved in a “passionate affair” during the onset of World World II with a married Swiss woman played by Russian supermodel Natalia Vodianova (Clash of the Titans). The script is from James Dearden (Fatal Attraction) and Vincenzo Cerami (Life Is Beautiful); first-timer Glenio Bonder will direct. Considering what Rhys-Meyers is used to on The Tudors, settling down with just one woman may be something of a challenge. [Deadline]

Dating Woes: CBS is developing a sitcom project based on the upcoming book The True Adventures of a Terrible Dater written by Susan Brightbill. Brightbill will adapt the story into a half-hour comedy herself. The plot centers on a single woman, a Chicago architect, and her friends, as they “navigate the world of dating.” You know what this means ... there will not be an article written about this show that doesn’t compare it to Sex and the City. [Variety]

Family Guy: Jaleel White (Family Matters) and Parris Mosteller (Worst Week) have joined the cast of family film Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer, directed by John Schultz (Aliens in the Attic). The cast includes Jordana Beatty and Heather Graham. Urkel White will be playing Judy’s teacher; why he hasn’t pursued a reality show — or, at the very least, Dancing with the Stars — remains one of the mysteries of our time. [Variety]

Born From Bourne: CSI creator Anthony Zuiker , who recently made his return to the CSI writers’ room, is developing a spy drama for CBS, which is essentially a spinoff from Robert Ludlum’s Jason Bourne novels. The drama, called Treadstone, is focused on Treadstone 71, the black-ops arm of the CIA featured in the Bourne franchise. The project — which will be written by John Glenn (Eagle Eye) — has already received a script commitment from CBS. [Deadline]

Life of Pi: McG is teaming up with Paul Scheuring (Prison Break) to develop a detective series for ABC. The show, called I, Pi, is centered on an investigator who “learned everything he needed to know from watching shows like Magnum P.I. and Simon Simon.” As a result, he “tends to subconsciously emulate those TV shamuses while out on the streets.” Considering the only Simon most people under the age of 25 know is Cowell, this may be a tough sell. [Variety]

Weekend Trip: Jesse Wigutow will rewrite Summit’s The Osterman Weekend, a remake of the 1983 Sam Peckinpah thriller. The updated version centers on a man who is visited by a reporter on the eve of an annual getaway with friends. The reporter tells him that his friends aren’t who he thinks they are; and when the reporter ends up dead, the man ends up in a "downward spiral of doubt and paranoia" as he tries to figure out what’s going on and who’s “out to kill him.” Based on a Robert Ludlow novel, the film will be directed by Robert Schwentke.
